Southington High School Planning
Attention Parents of 8th Grade Students
The course registration portal opens later in the year. Please see the attached directions on how to register via the Parent PowerSchool account. Parents and students are being asked to review level recommendations, select course electives, and submit requests via the portal. If you have any questions, please reach out to your child’s teacher and/or middle school counselor. It is best to submit during the portal window, and then changes can be made after the 21st with middle school counseling staff, if necessary. Level recommendation questions should be directed to the grade 8 teachers. Directions and registration forms have been attached in case you want to preview the courses offered for each grade level. SHS offers many courses in the various career pathways.*Students are not required to stay in a pathway and more information is included in the directions for registration.

*IMPORTANT * All parents/guardians of 8th grade students must have access to the Powerschool Parent Portal. This program will need to be accessed from a computer for upcoming Southington High School Course Registration. Please contact Ms. Walsh at (860) 628-3275 if you need Powerschool login information.
Students who do not plan to attend SHS still need to register for courses at SHS.
