Students with a sincere interest in singing should join the chorus, where they will be exposed to a wide variety of musical styles. The chorus performs at high-level concerts held throughout the year. 

Students who play a band or orchestra instrument in elementary school are strongly encouraged to continue playing in middle school. The JFK Band and Orchestra programs are available only for students who have participated in their elementary band/orchestra programs, or at the discretion of the band/orchestra director. The band and orchestra perform many styles of high-level music, in various settings, from in-school concerts to parades, tours of elementary schools and other venues. 

Advanced, extra-curricular music groups are offered in all 3 performing areas and maintain a vigorous rehearsal and performance schedule. Auditions are required for these groups. A year-round Color guard is an important part of the band’s outdoor performances as it open to all.
