Digital Applications

Mr. Nunes

The Middle School Digital Applications course introduces middle school students to essential technology skills using Canva, Google Applications, Coding, and business tools in an authentic interactive way. Students will learn to create engaging digital designs with Canva, collaborate with peers using Google Applications and explore the basics of coding through beginner-friendly platforms. Students will also gain an understanding of business applications, such as organizing tasks with project management tools, designing simple marketing materials and properly utilizing communication tools through learning management systems and email etiquette. Through hands-on activities and culminating final projects, students will develop creativity, problem-solving, and digital literacy skills to prepare them for future academic and career success.

6th Grade

6th graders will be introduced to coding with Scratch, desktop publishing fundamentals, and using office applications to communicate with a broader audience.

7th Grade

Students in 7th grade will review safe and ethical online practices, continue the exploration of office applications, and end with a unit on computer programming language.

8th Grade

8th graders participate in a mock-business scenario. Students are asked to use the applications (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Canva, etc.) to develop a Business Plan and pitch it to potential investors. The class ends with a unit that elevates the coding language covered in the previous two years.
