Parents are invited to our PTO meeting on Thursday, January 30th at 6:30pm to learn about changes to our middle school schedule for the 2025-2026 school year. If you are unable to attend the meeting, information regarding the changes can be found in the attachments.

It’s Sloper Plunge time! Please support our JFK staff members who will participate in the Sloper Plunge on Saturday, February 22nd at 1:00. Our school goal is $500. Thank you to those who have donated already. You can donate to our team through this link: JFK Sloper Plunge

The Southington Middle School Athletics Association is hosting a middle school basketball night at the high school on January 25th. All 3 teams from each school (boys, girls, and unified) will be showcased and 8th graders who will move on to high school after this year will be recognized.
The SMSAA is also hosting a Southington middle school night at the Hartford Wolfpack on Friday, February 21st. A portion of the cost for each ticket will be given back to SMSAA to help cover equipment costs for middle school sports. Consider joining the upcoming MLK Day Children’s March for Peace and Bell Ringing Ceremony to be held in Cheshire on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 12:00pm at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 59 Main Street in Cheshire. We hope some of our students and families can attend.

ON FRIDAYS ONLY throughout the winter, Flannel Fridays for a Cause will occur. For a $1 donation, students will be allowed to wear flannel pj bottoms (no onesies, pj sets, etc.) to school. Proceeds from Flannel Fridays for a Cause will support a schoolwide or community initiative. The Flannel Friday on January 24th will benefit Eagle Excellence. Teachers will collect $1 from students who wear flannel pj bottoms each Friday during homeroom. Please remember that pj tops or bottoms are NOT allowed to be worn on any day other than on Flannel Fridays for a Cause.

Homework Club for students in 6th and 7th grade occurs every Wednesday after school until 3:05pm in the media center. This is an opportunity for students to receive homework help provided by members of the National Junior Honor Society. Students can attend each week or as needed. Students must sign in when they arrive, and snacks will be provided. See Mrs. Fox, Mrs. Fontaine or Mrs. Mullins for more information.
